We were founded in February of 2015, and we’re based in sunny Redwood City, California - the epicenter of both Silicon Valley and the future of robotics.


We’ve started first shipments of our adorable home robot, Kuri. We know how critical it is that we take excellent care of everyone who reaches out to us with questions, ideas, and of course, orders. We want our customers to love us; maybe they send us hand-drawn robot greeting cards, or maybe they bring us homemade cookies. Ideally, they tell their friends that we are their favorite robot company ever because we’re just so darn helpful. Customer service is really*10^36 important to us, because hey, we’re selling robots alongside the dream of a home robot, and that’s a bit of a romantic notion. As with all things romantic, there are lots of questions. We need someone who cares, and is genuine. We’re looking for someone who is detail oriented so that questions and requests are answered quickly, warmly, and delightfully. And of course, they should be just as friendly in real life when we go to events.


  • Work inside our customer support system (Zendesk) including macros, ticket workflows, and internal coordination
  • Coordinate inbound requests via email and chat
  • Coordinate FAQ content, and fact finding for new questions
  • Coordinate with Social Media team to align across channels
  • Represent Mayfield Robotics at public events
  • Bring ideas and enthusiasm
  • Other delightful duties as assigned, because hey, startup


  • Be really good at making people happy
  • Have a passion for robots
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in customer service, ideally for a premium hardware product/brand
  • Extensive and recent experience with Zendesk
  • Some domestic travel required, including weekends
  • A degree of some kind, or a really great life story
  • A talent for brevity and eloquence without obfuscation
  • Flawless grammatical accuracy and precision
  • Be a team player with a positive energy and attitude
  • 18 months (or more) in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 Customer Service role

Bonus Points For

  • Fluency in other languages, ideally Japanese, or Chinese, or Spanish
  • Experience in delightfully chaotic startup environments
