We were founded in February of 2015, and we’re based in sunny Redwood City, California - the epicenter of both Silicon Valley and the future of robotics.
We’ve shipped our first robots, but this is only the beginning. As we prepare for wider distribution, we know we’ll need a new role on the team, focused squarely on sales, channel management, and business development. Working directly with the marketing team, this role will take the lead on the proactive management of our current sales channels (which are modest), and help us strategize and implement growth via new channels. It’s a role that will coordinate very closely with our other departments (particularly finance & operations), and one that will have a very direct and meaningful impact on not just our company, but the future of home robotics. This is not a cushy desk job: it’s front seat on a rollercoaster of an industry that is already moving fast, but doesn’t have all it’s track in place yet. A sense of adventure is mandatory.
This is a building role as much as a managing role: we know a lot of basics, but we know there’s a lot we don’t know. This role will have a remarkable amount of autonomy, and direct interaction with senior leadership to communicate how, where, when, and why we are selling our adorable home robot. Financial planning, sales forecasting, and analytics synthesis will be regular parts of the job, from ad hoc requests to thoughtful & regular reporting structures. Some of this will be asked for, and some of it will be on you to make sure the rest of the company has the data they need to make informed decisions.
This is also a relationship job. We’re looking for someone who can grow and maintain excellent personal relationships with the retail partners we choose, and to help them understand our business and products. Getting out from behind the spreadsheets on a regular basis is critical.
